Dragness of God is a drag-queen inspired spoof on the play "Agnes of God." The plot centers around a novice nun (Agnes) who is accused of having a child and strangling it to death. A psychiatrist (Doctor Livingston) is called in to find out how the child came to be, and who is responsible for its death. Agnes believes that she had the child through some form of divine intervention. Now, imagine all of these characters—including Mother Superior—as men in drag, with a "Naked Holy Ghost" making various appearances throughout. Michael Wanzie's interpretation of this Catholic play, based on traditional Catholic values, does not disappoint. The Mother Superior defends Agnes, because she (he) herself is Agnes' ACTUAL mother. We find out that Agnes is actually "Jasper" and Mother hid her (him) away in a closet, living off of communion wafers and holy water for the first three years of his life because little boys were forbidden in the convent. This serio-comedic adventure, full of self-deprecating humor and wit, follows the cleregy women (who are actually men) on a quest to find the truth.see less
